'I needed to focus on my health'- Mel Greig reveals why she quit her career in radio

Former radio host Mel Greig was raw as she spoke about the very unhealthy lifestyle habits which gave her a wake-up call, causing her to leave her career in radio.

Speaking on Channel Seven's The Daily Edition show on Tuesday, Mel, 35, revealed that she was drinking wine at 3pm on weekdays as a result of her lifestyle.

When Daily Edition co-host Tom Williams, 47, asked Mel why she quit Wollongong's Wave FM breakfast show, she said: 'The show started at 5am which meant that we got up at 3.20 in morning to start at 4am and I found myself so fatigued, just like a walking zombie.

'I didn't feel like doing anything. I had really bad health habits where at 3 o'clock in the afternoon I would pour my first glass of wine.'

She added: 'And it got to a point where I'm like, no, this is not sustainable, this is not a future for me, I need to resign and look after myself.'

In a complete turnaround of her lifestyle, Mel revealed that she has signed up for a boot camp course to get herself in peak mental and physical condition.
