October 1 declared as public holiday

The Federal Government has announced Monday, October 1 as an open occasion in celebration of Nigeria's 58th Independence Anniversary.

The announcement was contained in an announcement issued by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, on Thursday in Abuja and marked by the Permanent Secretary in the service of, Mohammed Umar.

Dambazau, who complimented Nigerians on the commemoration, asked them to support President Muhammadu Buhari organization's endeavors at keeping up and fortifying the solidarity and tranquility of the nation.

He underscored government's duty to advancing national solidarity, financial development, social and political advancement in light of majority rule standards.

The priest included that in the previous 58 years, Nigeria had gained a great deal of ground and positive effect on the lives of its nationals as well as on framework advancement and in addition worldwide relations.
