One student killed, one missing after gunmen attack in UNIJOS on Sunday


The administration of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) has affirmed the killing of one of their understudies in the ongoing assaults that shook the city on Sunday, September 30th.

In an announcement discharged by Abdullahi, essential collaborator enlistment center, data, and distributions, said one of its understudies was executed, one is missing while two others were harmed after the assault. As per Abdullahi, the illumination ended up important after the arrangement of unconfirmed data being coursed about the loss figures.

The statement reads; “It is claimed that seven students of the University have been killed as a result of the skirmishes. Management wishes to clarify that after a rigorous search was carried out, one student is still missing while one student was confirmed dead and others were reported injured. The corpse of the deceased student has since been deposited in a mortuary. One of the injured students is still receiving treatment in the hospital while the other has been discharged. Out of respect for the families of the affected students, the university authorities have decided not to disclose the identities of the dead and the injured but would do so in due course.”

The administration sympathizes with the groups of the perished understudy, the harmed and every one of the individuals who endured misfortunes amid the disastrous occurrence.

“The management also wishes to appreciate the government, security agencies as well as members of the public who have shown great concern about the plight of the university during this difficult period,”

On Sunday, a significant number of the understudies went ahead twitter to blame some security specialists for attacking their grounds and shooting sporadically. Shedrach Kums, a 300 level law understudy, was executed in the assault. Shedrach in a post shared on his Facebook page few days prior, had required a parity in fear. A week ago, obscure shooters assaulted a network in Jos, executing 14 people including a group of nine.
